"If we are going to save environmentalism and the environment, we must also save an endangered indicator species: the child in nature."
- Richard Louv

ABOUT
Growing up, Robert always enjoyed learning about science and the environment. His fondest memories are of family camping trips and spending time outdoors. He loved reading stories of adventure in the big maple tree in his backyard. His favorite book growing up was Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen.
As an adult, Robert became an outdoor, environmental, and science educator. He has been fortunate to live and teach in the Northwoods of Minnesota, the mountains of Southern California, Guatemala city, Sofia, Bulgaria, and the hills of South Korea.
In his time working with the youth, Robert decided to write a book accessible to young readers that provides simple ways people can lower their carbon footprint and energy consumption. He doesn’t claim to be an expert in this area, but attempts to do better as he learns throughout his life.
If you would like to learn more about ways to make an environmental difference, be sure to check out the resources page on this website.
